WGCMS Choir

Want to Sing?
Then why not join our Chorus? We would love you to come along to one of our rehearsals and meet us. Whether you have sung recently in a choir, last performed at school or simply enjoy singing in the bath we can help you find your voice. Under the watchful eye (and ear) of our Chorus Master Crispin Lewis, himself an accomplished performer, we are able to improve our singing and build our confidence.

Many of our members (but not all!) are experienced and can help newcomers to settle in. Unlike some choirs there is no need for an audition. We welcome all ages and aim to be accessible to all.

We meet at the United Reformed Church, Woodhall Lane, Welwyn Garden City (AL7 3TP) at 7:45pm, every Monday evening during term-time. New season starts 10th September 2012.

If you would like to join the Chorus please contact the Choir Secretary c h o i r s e c at w g c m s dot o r g dot u k or phone 01707 321922 so that we can make sure someone is ready to welcome you.

  • ‘Singing! I really enjoy the feeling of singing – particularly as part of a choir’
  • ‘Singing great music – the sense of achievement‘
  • ‘I like the friendliness’
  • ‘The quality of the singing led by Crispin’
Did you know?
Singing in a choir is good for you! It can reduce stress, lead to better overall health and even help people to recover from heart attacks and strokes. It is a sociable activity that can help to keep the brain active, whilst bringing together people of all ages.

Cellos Do you play an instrument?
The Welwyn Garden City Orchestra gives at least four public concerts a year, with our professional conductor James Ross and leader Christos Kokkinos. We play both orchestral repertoire and accompany the chorus, and we would be delighted to welcome new players. Sometimes we are lucky enough to perform with well known professional soloists.

Rehearsals are normally held at the United Reformed Church, on Tuesday evenings at 7:45pm, in term-time. New season starts 11th September 2012.

quote We hold open rehearsals, which are free for musicians as well as anyone who wants just to come along and listen.
