Crispin Lewis began conducting while a post-graduate student at the Royal College of Music. He is the conductor of The Musicall Compass (opens in a new window) (a professional baroque ensemble of voices and instruments), Thurrock Choral Society and Luton Choral Society, and is engaged regularly as a guest conductor by other choirs and orchestras. Crispin has directed orchestral, operatic and choral repertoire at London venues including Wigmore Hall; the Royal Opera House, Linbury Studio; Christ Church Spitalfields; the South Bank Centre, Purcell Room; St. John's Smith Square; St. James' Piccadilly; and St. Martin-in-the-fields; as well as live on BBC Radio 3. He has also performed professionally as a singer, violinist, baroque violinist and keyboard continuo player.
